Apple cider vinegar (ACV) has been used for centuries and is now available both as a traditional liquid and in encapsulated form. Both contain acetic acid — the active component — but the form you choose affects convenience, taste, and how you fit it into your routine.
Liquid ACV
The traditional form. Liquid ACV is typically diluted in water before drinking — consuming it undiluted is not recommended because of its acidity, which can affect tooth enamel over time. It is more affordable per serving and is the form used in most food applications (salad dressings, marinades). The strong taste is the main reason many people look for an alternative.
ACV Capsules
Capsules contain dried, powdered ACV — they are convenient, tasteless, easy to carry, and easier to take consistently. The tradeoff is that the dose of acetic acid per capsule is smaller than a typical liquid serving, so some products include multiple capsules per serving. If you dislike the taste of liquid ACV, capsules remove that barrier entirely.
Which Should You Choose?
If you cook with it or do not mind the taste, liquid is fine and economical. If you want a no-fuss daily supplement you can take with your other vitamins, capsules are the more practical choice for most people.
